We are recruiting for a Kitchen Assistant (temporary - maternity cover) to join our team at Woodlands Care Home. Woodlands is located within a residential area of Ripley, DE5. We provide care and nursing support to older adults and individuals living with dementia.
Position Details:
- Rate of Pay: The rate of pay is in line with national minimum wage.
- Hours: 2 days per week
- Shift Times: Split shift of 07:00-14:00 and 15:30-18:30
- Schedule: We work on a rota basis which includes alternate weekends and bank holidays
- Location: Butterley Hill, Ripley, DE5 3LW
- Please consider travel times to our location due to the opportunity including split shifts.
- Cooking: Morning shifts include cooking breakfast
This is a temporary position due to maternity cover. The expected duration of the role is 9 months, but the successful candidate will be notified if a permanent opportunity arises during this period.
We are looking for an individual who is caring, friendly and able to communicate with people at all levels. Previous experience of food preparation and kitchen support is required.
The main responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assist with the preparation, cooking and serving of meals
- Morning shifts include cooking breakfast
- Provide for dietary requirements
- Maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen and dining area
- Maintain accurate records of food supplies, temperatures, and schedules
- Ensure relevant standards are always met
- Ensure statutory Health and Safety standards in the kitchen and dining area

- Report any faulty equipment

About the Role
This is a full-time position, 44 hours. Working hours will include:
Senior Care Assistant shifts (07:45–20:00)
Supernumerary hours to support the Registered Manager (example 09:00–17:00)

We are recruiting for Care Assistants (temporary maternity cover) to join our team at Ferndene Care Home, DN21. At Ferndene Care Home, we offer care and nursing support to older adults and individuals living with dementia. Position Details:
Rate of Pay: In line with the national minimum wage, with increments for NVQ Levels 2 and 3
Hours: Full time, Days or Nights
Shift Times: 07:45-20:00 or 19:45-08:00.
We work on a rota basis including alternate weekends and some bank holidays
Location: Gainsborough, DN21
Sponsorship: We are unable to offer sponsorship.
Start date: July
