A closer look at Parkside

Parkside home is highly respected by key professionals and enjoys an excellent reputation.  This has enabled us to develop and achieve accreditation in a number of speciality areas, including Gold Standards Framework for end of life care.

Parkside is a light and spacious environment, specifically designed to facilitate access and the use of specialist equipment, within a homely setting.  Recent sensitive changes to the environment and continued staff development enables us to provide a holistic and non discriminatory service, irrespective of each person’s needs and wishes.

Our aim is to provide a relaxed and welcoming environment that residents regard as their home, and where they are actively assisted to maintain their abilities and reach full potential.  We believe everyone has the right to choice, whether this is in the clothes they wear,  the food they eat, or the risks they wish to take in managing their own life. We look beyond any disability to find the person you have always been.

We foster an 'open door' approach for residents and their families at all times; ensuring any requests can be met promptly and minimizing anxiety for all concerned.  This helps to make the transition at what is often a very difficult time less traumatic for the resident and their loved ones.

Parkside is well placed in the local community and enjoys active contacts with people coming into the home, as well as the opportunity for residents to maintain their links outside, attending clubs, social events and places of interest.

To support our clinical services we employ Activities Co-ordinators to run a social and therapeutic activities programme that is aimed at stimulating physical and mental functions, to prevent further deterioration - and to have fun.

The upkeep of the home is the responsibility of our hotel services team, consisting of Cooks, kitchen assistants, housekeeping, domestic and laundry staff, as well as general maintenance personnel.

Our administrative team do an excellent job in supporting the home manager and providing an initial contact for residents and visitors to the home.
