Festive Celebrations: Christmas at Croft Care Home

As the festive season unfolds, Croft Care Home in Burton on Trent has been filled with joy, laughter, and a true sense of community. December has been a wonderful month for both our residents and staff, with various activities bringing everyone together to celebrate this special time of year.
We kicked off our celebrations with a festive transformation at the end of November when the home was beautifully decorated, ensuring we started December in full festive cheer. The lights and Christmas decorations immediately filled the home with warmth and excitement for the month ahead.

Carol Singing by Edge Hill Academy

One of the highlights of the month was a visit from Edge Hill Academy where the children sang Christmas carols. Our residents thoroughly enjoyed the day, and it was a truly special moment. We are extremely grateful to the students and staff of Edge Hill Academy for their visit and the happiness they shared with us all!

Croft Care Home Nativity and Elf Day Celebrations

Our wonderful Activities Coordinator, Sam, took the lead in organising a truly entertaining nativity play, with both residents and staff participating. The play was enjoyed by all, and you can catch the video on our Facebook page—it’s sure to put a smile on your face! Elf Day at Croft Care Home was another fun-filled event, where staff dressed up as festive elves to raise awareness and support for Alzheimer’s research.

Acts of Kindness

In the true spirit of Christmas, the team has been working together throughout December to make a difference in the wider community. Each week, we’ve been gathering items to donate to different organisations, such as Burton HOPE. It has been incredibly rewarding to contribute and support those in need during the festive period.

Christmas Cards from Little Blessings Playgroup

We are truly grateful to have received Christmas cards from the children at Little Blessings Playgroup, based at the community church. These lovely gestures have meant so much to us all.

Arts, Crafts, and Christmas Fun with a Special Visit from Peter and Carol

In addition to all these wonderful events, our residents have been busy with arts and crafts, decorating festive gift bags and creating special keepsakes. Our much-anticipated visit from Peter and Carol added more joy to our Christmas celebrations, bringing music and even more happiness into our home.
As we look forward to the rest of the festive season, we are grateful for the love and support from our local community, families, and friends. Stay tuned for more festive updates, and don’t forget to check out our Facebook page for photos and videos from our celebrations so far!
Wishing everyone a joyful Christmas from all of us at Croft Care Home. 🎄✨
