Monarch Healthcare’s Annual Garden Competition – Monarch in Bloom.
At Monarch Healthcare, we take immense pride in fostering creativity, togetherness, and joy through our much-anticipated annual garden competition – Monarch in Bloom. Each year, our care homes craft stunning garden displays, often inspired by unique themes, with our residents playing a role in bringing these visions to life.
Gardening offers a multitude of benefits that extend beyond the beauty of blooming flowers and vibrant plants. The act of planting, nurturing, and watching a garden flourish can be deeply therapeutic and provide a meaningful way for residents to stay connected with the outdoors.
For many of our residents, gardening was a beloved pastime, and maintaining this connection to a familiar hobby is incredibly important.
Gardening is more than just a relaxing activity – it’s a source of physical exercise, social interaction, and creative expression. Whether it’s planting seeds, pruning plants, or simply enjoying our gardens, each moment contributes to a sense of accomplishment. Research has shown that spending time outdoors and engaging in gardening activities can reduce stress, alleviate symptoms of anxiety, and promote overall cognitive function, especially in older adults.
A Heartfelt Thanks to All Involved
Monarch in Bloom has blossomed into a highlight of our yearly calendar, and it would not be possible without the hard work and commitment of everyone involved. A huge thank you goes all who have invested their time and creativity.
While the final results are still to come, we are already proud of what has been achieved.
As we eagerly await the announcement of this year’s winners, we invite you to take a virtual stroll through the beautiful gardens our homes have created.
