Stanton Ilkeston FC Under 10s – The Season So Far

We announced last year that Monarch Healthcare had sponsored a local grassroots football team, Stanton Ilkeston FC Under 10s. We are very happy to provide an update on the team’s season so far and some fantastic work they have been doing both on and off the pitch.

These boys have been nothing but inspirational in the time their coaches have gotten to know them, from showing true acts of kindness to some of our residents at Christmas by providing gifts and signing carols to tidying up their local cinema.

The team have almost completed their first season, and we hear the boys have remained a positive, supportive and inclusive team, something to be very proud of!

Never disheartened by a loss, various draws and their first win last weekend, all their hard work, effort and training is coming together nicely. Last week the team got to take part in what can only be described as a magical experience for young football fanatics.

The team attended a Derby County football club home game against first in the league Burnley. Not only did they get to watch a fantastic performance from both sides, the young squad were able to watch the players warm up from the side of the pitch, meet and have photos with the mascots of DCFC but they also took part in the tunnel walk out ahead of the match starting. The team walked out on to the pitch, side by side, with the DCFC starting 11 in front of 28,000 spectators. A moment full of excitement and nerves but a taste of their dreams becoming a reality.
