At Croft Care Home, the summer months have been a busy but exciting time filled with memorable trips, fun activities, and our Summer Fair. Let’s take a look back at some of the amazing moments we’ve shared.

Come Dine With Us

In July, we hosted a wonderful ‘Come Dine with Us’ evening, where we enjoyed a delicious feast of burgers, chicken, liver and onions, followed by a classic dessert of jam sponge and custard.

In the days that followed, we enjoyed a visit from Ali and their ice cream van, which was a big hit with both residents and staff! September brought further culinary adventures with a homemade pizza day, where we came together to create and enjoy delicious pizza – a fun and tasty experience for all.

A Summer of Sports

This summer, we cheered on England at the Euros and Olympics. Inspired by the events, we hosted our very own Croft Olympics, which included competitions like the egg-and-spoon race and a “keep-the-ball-up” challenge.

Monarch in Bloom at Croft Care Home

In August, we participated in Monarch Healthcare’s annual garden competition, Monarch in Bloom. Every year, the care and nursing homes across the group create stunning garden displays based on themes. We are so grateful to everyone who helped us, all contributions from family and friends mean a huge amount to us.

Stapenhill Gardens

We are blessed to have the glorious Stapenhill Gardens on our doorstep, and often like to wander down to see the swans, geese and ducks. The August sunshine has given plenty of opportunity for trips to the river clutching our loaves of bread. It always brings a smile and memories of childhood.

Croft Care Home Summer Fair

We had a wonderful turnout for our summer fair which supports us to raise money for our resident’s fund. We are very grateful to have received donations towards our raffle and we cannot be more appreciative of everyone who attended and contributed to this year’s fair.

In addition to these highlights, we’ve enjoyed many other activities, including movie nights, singing and baking and will share more updates very soon.
